Shelf of Hope: January 2015

January Shelf of Hope Report

The Shelf served 587 individuals in January (176 children, 391 adults and 20 seniors). 9227 pounds of food were distributed.

We have made an effort to move clients through the Shelf as fast as possible so they are not waiting so long in the cold. Serving hot chocolate to warm them up while they are waiting. We are also putting in an effort to keep things as fair as possible, training our clients to respect our numbering system.

Kathy Hoglund attended Civil Rights training through Second Harvest and will be passing that information along to our Shelf volunteers. All front-line volunteers are required to have civil rights training annually.

A meeting has been scheduled for February 11 to establish our budget for the remainder of the year. Theo, Jim, Kathy and Don will be meeting to finish this up.

We welcomed a new volunteer, Janis, who is an exciting addition to our staff as she is very interested in fund raising and is bringing experience in this area to us.
