An invitation from our Senior Warden
Dear members and friends,
As we head into summer and the transition to new clergy, it's time for us to come together as a community and discuss where we are, and our hopes and dreams for the future.
Please plan to join your fellow congregants for coffee and conversation at 9:10 am on either Sunday June 18 or Sunday June 25th (or both!). We will meet in the gathering space between the 8 am and 10 am services on those two days to discuss various topics about Gethsemane and its future.
Some expected talking points: Do we still agree with the mission/direction discovered in the last transition process? What priestly activities are most important to this community? What other activities/roles/functions that have sometimes been filled by clergy are important to this community, but more properly should be filled by another role? What is going well? What needs attention? Would there be interest in/support for a modified summer worship schedule, respecting elements of both current services? How can we support each other during this transition?
This community time will replace the separate coffee hours following each service on these two weeks as we come together to look into the future for Gethsemane. We know that many people have obligations on these weekends because of Father's Day and Pride, but we hope you can join us for 45 minutes on one or both days.
Don't forget - This Sunday, we will gather after the 10 am service to bless Father Phil and celebrate his time with Gethsemane with a community meal. Please bring a dish to pass.
Wyn Knittel, Senior Warden
